Melee (Attack, Strength, and Defense)
Melee is the simplest to train. All you need is a weapon (or just your fists) and an NPC to attack.
Begin by attacking chickens. Everything they drop can be useful for you in one way or another, and are really weak. First, they always drop raw chicken (which can be cooked on a fire or range for cooking experience) and bones (that can be buried for prayer experience). They also have a random chance to drop a number of feathers - these serve for various purposes and stack in your inventory (only take up one space). They are located North of Fred's farm and West of the cow field on the East side of the river Lum (just outside of Lumbridge castle).
After reaching level 5 in attack, strength, and defense, I would suggest attacking cows.
